It’s not every day you get to spend your 40th birthday on the sidelines of an NFL game. And it’s not every day that game goes from a laugher to a thriller in overtime where the Dolphins beat the Bengals 38-35, but I’ll take. Any day on the sidelines photographing the NFL is a great day.
This game was all about who would win the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. The Bengals had the edge and early on in the game it looked like they would have the pick all but wrapped up at Hard Rock Stadium.
The funny thing about the NFL is that anything can happen. Just like the Bengals scoring 16 points in the final 29 seconds to send the game to overtime. There was an onside kick, last second hail mary and a converted 2 point attempt. It was a wild finish and it was a great 40th birthday to top it off.
The only downside of this game was that it was the last game of the season for me. It was a helluva ride, started off with a bang with Lamar Jackson and Baltimore and ended with an overtime thriller where the Dolphins beat the Bengals on a kick as time expired.
